Issue Two: Call for Submissions
We launched HopeIRL as an experiment in March 2020. As creators, we wanted this to be a safe space for you to share your stories. Our hope was that this zine would serve as a platform to amplify your voices and promote the values of your communities. As we watch the events of the world unfold around us—as we shelter in place, as we protest racial injustice, as we stand up for equal rights—we are reminded that now, more than ever, the world needs to hear your stories. Your peers need to hear you, and older generations must listen as well.
We accept pitches and submissions of all kinds. Our next issue is focused on LGBTQ+ and queer-adjacent topics. Our call to the HopeIRL community is for diversity in these submissions: from queer and non-queer writers and visual artists, on queer and queer-adjacent topics, diverse in race, gender, geographic location, and world perspective.
